Privacy Policy
In short: we keep what you make in Hamesh (your books, pages, words and reviews) so you find it on any phone. We send words and their sentences to an AI service to explain them. No ads, no tracking, we don't sell your data, and you can delete everything from inside the app.
What we collect
- Account: signing in with Apple or Google, we keep the account identifier and your email (Apple may give a private relay address). You can also start as a guest, with no email.
- What you make in the app: the books you add, the page photos you take, the words and sentences you save with their meanings, your review history. (Your settings stay on your phone.)
- Challenges: the name you choose for a challenge, and your score in it.
Page photos are read on your phone to find the text. We don't collect your location or contacts, and the app has no analytics or advertising tools.
Why
- To keep your library and word bank and sync them across your devices.
- To explain words in Arabic as they're used in their sentence, and to say them aloud.
- To schedule your reviews and your daily reminder (scheduled on your phone).
- To bring back a friend's score on a challenge you sent.
Who processes data with us
- Supabase: database, storage and sign-in. Your data and page photos are kept here, in space only you can reach.
- Anthropic (Claude): we send the word, its sentence, the sentences around it and the book title, and get back its meaning. We don't send your name or email.
- Pronunciation: only the word's text, to Wikimedia Commons for human recordings, or to a text-to-speech service (such as Google Cloud) when there is no recording.
- Apple and Google: for sign-in, and to distribute the app through their stores.
Data may be processed on servers outside your country. We choose providers committed to protecting it.
What others see
Nothing you save is shown to anyone else, except in challenges: whoever has a challenge code sees its five words and meanings and the name you chose; you see your friend's name and score.
Deletion and retention
We keep your data while your account exists. To delete everything: Settings → Account → Delete account. Your account and data are removed from our servers; backups may hold copies for a short time before they are erased. You can also email us to ask.
Children
Hamesh is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Email us and we'll answer within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change matters.

باختصار: نحفظ ما تصنعه في هامش (كتبك وصفحاتك وكلماتك ومراجعاتك) لتجده على أي هاتف. نرسل الكلمات وجملها إلى خدمة ذكاء اصطناعي لشرحها. لا إعلانات، ولا تتبّع، ولا نبيع بياناتك. وتحذف كل شيء من داخل التطبيق.
ما نجمعه
- الحساب: عند الدخول بحساب Apple أو Google نحفظ معرّف الحساب وبريدك الإلكتروني (قد يكون بريدًا مخفيًّا من Apple). ويمكنك البدء ضيفًا بلا بريد.
- ما تصنعه في التطبيق: الكتب التي تضيفها، وصور الصفحات التي تصوّرها، والكلمات والجمل التي تحفظها ومعانيها، وسجل مراجعاتك. (إعداداتك تبقى على هاتفك.)
- التحديات: الاسم الذي تختاره لنفسك في التحدي، ونتيجتك فيه.
تُقرأ صور الصفحات على هاتفك نفسه لاستخراج النص. لا نجمع موقعك، ولا جهات اتصالك، ولا نستخدم أدوات تحليل أو إعلانات داخل التطبيق.
لماذا
- لنحفظ مكتبتك وبنك كلماتك ونزامنها بين أجهزتك.
- لنشرح الكلمات بالعربية كما جاءت في جملتها، ولننطقها.
- لنجدول مراجعاتك ونرسل تذكيرك اليومي (يُجدول على هاتفك نفسه).
- لنوصل نتيجة صديقك في تحدٍّ أرسلته إليه.
من يعالج البيانات معنا
- Supabase: قاعدة البيانات والتخزين وتسجيل الدخول. هنا تُحفظ بياناتك وصور صفحاتك، في مساحة لا يصل إليها غيرك.
- Anthropic (Claude): نرسل الكلمة وجملتها والجمل المحيطة بها وعنوان الكتاب، لتصلنا معانيها. لا نرسل اسمك ولا بريدك.
- خدمات النطق: نرسل نص الكلمة فقط إلى Wikimedia Commons للتسجيلات البشرية، أو إلى خدمة تحويل نص إلى كلام (مثل Google Cloud) حين لا يوجد تسجيل.
- Apple وGoogle: لتسجيل الدخول، ولتوزيع التطبيق عبر متجريهما.
قد تُعالَج البيانات على خوادم خارج بلدك. نختار مزوّدين يلتزمون بحماية البيانات.
ما يراه الآخرون
لا شيء مما تحفظه يظهر لغيرك، إلا في التحديات: من يملك رمز تحدٍّ يرى الكلمات الخمس ومعانيها والاسم الذي اخترته، وأنت ترى اسم صديقك ونتيجته.
الحذف والاحتفاظ
نحتفظ ببياناتك ما دام حسابك قائمًا. لحذف كل شيء: الإعدادات ← الحساب ← حذف الحساب. يُحذف حسابك وبياناتك من خوادمنا، وقد تبقى نسخ احتياطية لفترة قصيرة قبل أن تُمحى. ويمكنك أيضًا مراسلتنا لطلب ذلك.
الأطفال
هامش ليس موجّهًا لمن هم دون ١٣ عامًا.
حقوقك
لك أن تطلب نسخة من بياناتك، أو تصحيحها، أو حذفها. راسلنا وسنرد خلال ٣٠ يومًا.
التغييرات
إن غيّرنا هذه السياسة غيّرنا تاريخها أعلاه، ونبّهناك داخل التطبيق إن كان التغيير مهمًّا.
